UNBOXING AND ACCESSORIES
Upon looking at the box, ROG isn’t skimping on their packaging on the Delta. The front shows an image of the Delta with the ROG logo on the top right while below it is the product name and its core feature with the Hi-Res Certification on the right. While the back shows brief information of the Delta’s features.
Upon opening the box, we are greeted by a welcome note and the headset is very well protected and packaged. Aside from the headset itself, the package also includes a detachable microphone, a set of velour pads, and a type-c to type-a cable.
DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY
Looking at the headset, I can say it is solidly built. Asus
The headset is a closed-back design with D-shaped
The controls are located on the bottom left earcup of the headset which is the RGB Lighting and the volume toggle. While the top of the earcups have these vents to help you keep your ears cool. The microphone port is also located on the left earcup.
The earcups can be rotated so it can rest on your neck when
Unfortunately, the headset has a non-removable type-c cable which is braided. I would like to have a non-removable one.
USER EXPERIENCE AND CONCLUSION
AUDIO/SOUND

The ROG Delta has a balanced sound signature where some frequencies are slightly enhanced. We predominantly used leather earpads in our testing with the headset.

Most gaming headsets in the market are bass-heavy which aims to be more immersive to a certain gamer. Overall, I like how they tuned this headset. Bass isn’t overpowering the vocals on songs and treble are also tuned well to not make the songs more enjoyable not piercing to the ear. It is perfect for gamers who also enjoy listening to music. Gunshots and footsteps are precise which I can easily locate enemies during my PUBG and Rainbow 6 Siege sessions with friends
TIP: Changing the pads can affect the sound of any headset. From my research, Leather pads can give more bass and maybe can tame the treble. While using velour pads can widen the soundstage but you will be losing that extra bass from the leather pads.
COMFORT

I must say the headset is pretty much good overall. Clamping force is strong enough to make it stay in your head and not strong enough to be fatiguing to wear. There are 5 levels of adjustment to make it fit on your head. The pads are also very nice. They included 2 types of pads which are the protein-leather and velour pads with very soft memory foam. It is a solid headset overall but my only complaint is the earcup design which is not good for my small ears. My ears didn’t sit on the pads due to its very wide earpad hole. I can’t wear them for long periods due to my ears touching the drivers instead of the pads.
MICROPHONE
The microphone is quite decent. Pickups most of the noise in the background and breathing sounds are also picked up the mic. Would gladly add a microphone foam to decrease the hissing pickups by the mic.
SOFTWARE
The headset comes with the ROG Armoury II Software which can be downloaded through the ASUS ROG Website. It offers a lot of customization for the headset. You can tweak the sound that the headset produces, and you can also sync with other ASUS products that you own. The software also comes with different sound profiles.
CONCLUSION
I must say the Delta is one of the best gaming headsets in the market right now. The sound signature offers a great addition to many gamers out there who also like to listen to music. Sound separation and soundstage are superb and having 2 different pads is also a bonus. The downsides I saw are the comfort for people with small ears, the non-detachable cable. Above stated in the comfort section of my review, I wish they would redesign the earcupS to accommodate small ears. As for my recommendation, I would like to have at least 2 types of inputs like 3.5mm and USB for flexibility and having a detachable cable is always good.
Pros
- Quad DAC
- Excellent Sound Quality for gamers and audiophiles
- Extra pads
- Detachable Microphone
- USB C
Cons
- Non-removable cable
- D-shaped earcup design might not be a good choice for most ear sizes.
- Price is bit on the premium side.
- Mic picks up a lot of noise
- Cable is too long for my liking.
The ROG Delta Quad-DAC Gaming Headset is a Lason Worthy product because of its overall features and performance. I will gladly recommend this to anyone want a very good sounding gaming headset and hoping ROG would revamp its earcup design to fit most ears.
