UNBOXING and FIRST IMPRESSIONS
UNBOXING
The Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro’s packaging is plain simple. On the front of the box, we can see the product name along with a zoom-in photo of the headphone itself. While on the back, it shows the side photo of the headphone and tagline.
Upon opening the box, The headphones itself isn’t protected by any foam which raises a concern that the headphones might get damaged in shipping. The other contents inside the box aside from the headphones are the pouch, some documentation and a 1/4″ or 6.35 gold plated adapter.

DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY
The DT990 Pro 250 Ohms still carries the traditional Beyerdynamic design. The design is very much similar to the DT770 Pro 80 Ohms that we reviewed but with a more open-back design on the earcups. The earcups itself has this grill to make the sound leak out and makes the headphones produced a wider sound stage and a better overall sound.
The coiled cable here that connects the source is non-removable and it is quite long which is around 3 meters and cable is heavy. and on the other end, it has a 3.5mm jack and they also include a 6.5mm adapter to be used in certain amps or amp/DAC setups.
The earpads used here are velours which are quite soft and they also have padding on the driver area of the pads in case your ears rest on the drivers itself and not on the pads. And they are removable and washable.
